Accessibility

one-step-beyond.de has been optimised for barrier-free access. It fulfills the requirements of Precedence Levels 1 and 2 of the WAI-Guidelines.

The most important characteristics:

  • Content and layout are completely separated from one another
  • The site allows for accessibility of content without stylesheets, without JavaScript, in pure text browsers, or by means of screen readers
  • Colours and contrast have been optimised
  • Font size can be freely chosen
  • Page and column widths automatically adjust to the chosen font size
  • The entire site can be navigated using the keyboard
  • In many cases, additional link information (so called Link-Title) is available. In order for this information to be called up using a Screenreader or Textbrowser, the User Preferences must configured accordingly
  • Dedication of current W3C-Technologies with a valid code

Using current technologies, such as CSS2, for page formatting, means that older internet browsers, e.g. Netscape 4, may no longer be supported to the full extent.
